Marlene Bizub
Marlene Bizub is a therapist in private practice, with extensive experience performing evaluations for the court in domestic relations cases. She has served as a Family Preservation Specialist in Dependency and Neglect cases for the court in the past, and currently accepts appointments from the court as Child and Family Investigator, Parenting Coordinator, or Expert Witness in Domestic Relations Cases. Marlene currently serves on two committees, as a facilitator, and as a designated provider through the domestic law courts. She is also instrumental in educational and therapeutic seminars through the legal system. In addition to her professional work supporting families, she is active in her church and in non-profit organizations within the community and professional circles. She also writes and speaks on subjects relating to divorce and families in transition. She will complete her Doctorate in Forensic Psychology in June 2009.
Through her vast experience as a Child and Family Investigator for the courts, Marlene sees many contentious divorces. She knows there is a better way to handle divorce. She has seen that divorcing parents, who are themselves in the throws of a difficult emotional trauma, sometimes don’t see how difficult their conflict is on their children, so the children’s needs aren’t being addressed. Marlene sees the collaborative process as giving an option for all family members to eliminate some of the conflict and emotional damage that frequently occurs in divorce. Marlene has dedicated her practice to working with children and families going through divorce or transition. Having been involved in many contested divorce situations, she believes in the Collaborative process as a healthy alternative to the traditional divorce process.
